Choice

A professional beauty store in Ahmedabad, selling wholesale and retail, with no online presence. I rebranded it and designed its online store, so orders can come in any time of day.

the brief

A trusted store, invisible online

Choice has supplied Ahmedabad's salons for years, selling both wholesale and retail. But it had no online presence at all.

It needed three things: a catalog for hundreds of products, a way for orders to come in at any time, and a real place for ads to send people. I didn't want to wait on a coder, so I designed it and built it with Claude as my developer.

what shaped the design

Three things I had to solve

Two kinds of buyers

A salon stocking up and a customer buying one gel polish need very different paths.

A huge catalog

With this many products, finding the right one had to take seconds: filters by category, type and brand.

Ads need a landing spot

Every ad had to open a page where people can buy right away, not just look.

the big decision

Not a typical online store

The biggest call was the order flow. Choice isn't Amazon, and a standard store template didn't fit how it actually sells.

So there are two paths. Retail customers add to cart and check out in four clear steps. Bulk buyers fill one short form and get wholesale rates on WhatsApp, usually the same day, the way the store already works with salons.

what I learned

Design for how the business really sells

A store template would have been faster, but it would have fought the way Choice works. Starting from how the shop already sells, then designing the site around it, made the difference. And building it myself with AI meant I could own it from logo to live site.
